As a Mechanical Engineering major, this article quickly caught my eye. The points are fairly valid to me, but as most of my fellow engineering students know, they picked one of the hardest fields of study and know up front that it is not going to be a cakewalk. I will included my favorite one below because I have not met a soul in the engineering world that didn’t agree with this.

2. Other Disciplines Have Inflated Grades
Brilliant engineering students may earn surprisingly low grades while slackers in other departments score straight As for writing book reports and throwing together papers about their favorite zombie films.

Not to hate too much on other majors out there, but seriously, I would love to see you put down your teacher-issued study guide and try some engineering homework. (One problem can take hours if you are not careful! Yeah, that business calculus won’t help either) If you’re going to try to tell me I don’t know jack about the business world, I attained half a business school minor while I was in high school, and take the rest of those classes as my blow-off for a semester–too bad I only have a couple more to use.

As you can see this topic can get quite heated. I do truly mean no offense to others out there; I just don’t believe someone who has to think half as hard could tell me classes their are more difficult than mine, maybe more time consuming, but not harder. The piece is definitely written to insight some feedback from readers, so be sure to check out some of the comments below the article. [Wired]
